Scott Bryant - ADI

Scott Bryant

Approved Driving Instructor (ADI)

Scott’s journey to becoming an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) began in late 2019, as he prepared to transition from a successful 20-year career with EE. Having dedicated over 15 years to the local community through the 2nd Portishead Scout Group and seven years with the Kilkenny Explorer Scout Unit, Scott was passionate about continuing his community involvement. Recognising that many of the young people he mentored were approaching driving age, he saw an excellent opportunity to support them in a new and practical capacity.

Encouraged by his family to combine his lifelong passion for driving with his commitment to helping others, Scott enrolled with a local Bristol driving school to begin his professional training. While his instruction commenced in March 2020, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic brought the process to an immediate halt. Unfazed by the setback, Scott adapted by working as a delivery driver, helping to keep essential goods moving for those unable to leave their homes during the lockdowns. Once restrictions eased and he was able to resume his practical training, Scott gained invaluable early experience by teaching his eldest son to drive.

Despite the unprecedented industry delays and a lengthy two-year process, Scott's perseverance never wavered. He successfully navigated the backlog, officially qualifying as an ADI. Today, he brings that same resilience, patience, and community-focused dedication to every lesson he teaches. Crucially, Scott draws upon his own family experiences with spectrum disorders, enabling him to provide highly empathetic, tailored tuition. Whether he is working with neurodivergent individuals, nervous drivers, or those who simply need a bit more time to build their confidence behind the wheel, Scott excels at creating a calm, supportive, and inclusive environment for every student.

Ben Treloar - PDI

Ben Treloar

Potential Driving Instructor (PDI)

Ben Treloar joins Redcliffe Driving School as a Potential Driving Instructor (PDI), bringing a wealth of educational expertise and a natural aptitude for coaching to the team. Having successfully completed his initial instructor training in May 2026, Ben is now taking on his own group of students to build his practical teaching experience ahead of his final Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) test.

Ben transitions into the driving instruction industry following an impressive 18-year career in primary education, where he worked as both a teacher and a sports coach. Much like Scott, Ben is deeply embedded in the local community. He actively coaches both junior and adult football teams in Portishead, giving him extensive experience in communicating effectively with a wide range of ages, personalities, and learning styles.

With over 20 years of personal experience behind the wheel, Ben has always had a passion for driving and is excited to share that enthusiasm with his students. His background in education perfectly equips him for the passenger seat, allowing him to apply a naturally calm, patient, and approachable manner to every lesson. Ben excels at tailoring his teaching methods to support each learner's individual needs, ensuring they feel comfortable and encouraged throughout their journey. His ultimate goal is not simply to help his students pass their test, but to equip them with the skills, confidence, and knowledge required to be safe drivers for life.
